The Green Activist Fantasy of Depopulating the Planet Gets a Boost in Africa via Locusts


Environmentalists have been very successful at preventing the kind of development in many African countries that would ensure adequate living standards. This doesn't mean throwing even more guilt money at the problem, which has been shown time and again to make matters worse. It means allowing the use of fossil fuels to generate electricity, and allowing the use of genetically modified organisms to improve crop growth and resilience. Now a domino-roll of African countries are having their food supplies destroyed by plagues of locusts, but the pressure is on to use "organic" pesticides, rather than ones that actually work.
